Invicta FC books Cris ‘Cyborg’ Justino to defend her 145 lb strap vs. Charmain Tweet on the same weekend, and in the same city as Rousey/Zingano.
MMAFighting.com confirmed the news late Monday.
Justino (12-1, 1NC) has not fought in MMA since July of 2013, which is when she won the inaugural Invicta 145 lb title by stopping Marloes Coenen. Since this time she has signed with Lion Fights and participated in two muay thai bouts. She debuted with a TKO over Jennifer Colomb and most recently lost to Jorina Baars in a back-and-forth contest that went the distance.
Tweet (6-4) is riding a two fight win streak, with wins over Anna Barone, who beat Tweet in under twenty seconds early in her career, and Veronica Rothenhausler. Both of which came in the first round. She lost her professional MMA debut to current UFC women’s bantamweight champion, Ronda Rousey.
This featherweight title contest is expected to be the main event. This is the only bout announced for the card at this time.
Invicta Fighting Championships 11 is set to go down on February 27 in Los Angeles and is expected to air on UFC Fight Pass.
